What type of Laser do you use? |
Our Alexandrite Laser, the GentleLase, emits a gentle beam of light that passes onto the skin, which is protected during treatment by a revolutionary dynamic cooling device.
|
How many sessions will it take to reach the desired effect? |
On average it should take between 4 - 6 sessions, 4 - 6 weeks apart to receive a permanent result. The intensity of the beam will depend on your skin type and hair colour. For those who have darker skin, it will require more sessions. Those with light hair will require more sessions as well. This is because the laser light is attracted to dark colours (melanin) in the hair . Some people who have a darker skin colour or tan will have less of a benefit because the darker pigment in the skin will absorb some of the laser light energy. These people can still achieve a satisfactory result if a lower energy is used. Those people with white, grey, light blonde or red hair the results will also be reduced and will require additional sessions.

Is laser hair removal permenant? Do you guarantee it? |
Our Guarantee We guarantee it ! If by the 7th session you have not had permanent results, we will continue providing to you sessions free of charge ( the 8th session onwards ) for a period of 1 year. This 1 year period commences from the 1st session. Please note that sessions 1 - 7 must not have an interval between each session longer than 6 weeks or the guarantee will be voided. Our guarantee is unique to the industry.
Dark Skinned and/or Lighter Hair Since you may require more than 7 sessions we ask that you waive the guarantee, but as compensation we will significantly reduce the price. There may be some cases where we will have to turn you away. Please call us at 905.836.4255 for more details.

Does my hair need to be long to perform laser hair removal? |
On the contrary, it is preferable for hair to be short, namely 1 - 2 mm ( 1 - 2 days growth ) at the time of the procedure. Hair can be clipped or shaved prior to the treatments, but waxing or plucking should be avoided for 2 - 3 weeks prior to the treatment to enhance effectiveness.
|
Are there any possible complications of laser hair removal? |
The most common complication of the procedure are hyper- pigmentation ( dark spots ) or hypo- pigmentation ( light spots ). This is a relatively rare complication and is temporary in nature.
|
Is it safe? |
Yes. The treated area my become slightly pink or red afterwards. This will go away within a few minutes to a few hours and in some cases a few days. Since the energy from the laser passes through the body, it does not accumulate within the body, and therefore does not leave a residue ; it is safe.
