The science of skin rejuvenation is evolving at The Anti-Aging Clinic. Our microdermabrasion systems have the polishing action of diamond chips and the cleaning action of a vacuum.
We use a resurfacing technique, gently exfoliating the skin with natural diamond chips, to remove the topmost layer of skin, which leaves it supple and vibrant. At the same time, we vacuum the dead skin cells away in a sterile and controlled manner. Removing this outer layer of dead skin cells leaves a smoother texture and promotes the growth of healthy new skin cells.

Microdermabrasion is essentially a powerful mechanical exfoliation with either the original crystal microdermabrasion technology or the newer diamond-tip microdermabrasion.
Although we have both we focus on the use of diamond-tip because it achieves the same results but with less discomfort .
Do not get microdermabrasion if you have:
Other contraindications to microdermabrasion include sunburn, viral infections like herpes simplex, and acne.
It is important to realize that you have taken off the outermost layer of the skin, which is also its protection, so this is not the time to go to the beach. Be careful with your skin a few days after the microdermabrasion treatment: don't do vigorous exercise and don't expose your skin to the sun. Wear a gentle physical sunscreen, even if it is a cloudy day.
Important, over 48 hours after the treatment apply sunscreen and stay out of the sun or swimming pools. Along with the dead skin cells, you have removed some of your protection.
The Microdermabrasion benefits are many: softens fine lines and wrinkles, helps to smooth skin texture, decreases appearance of scarring, and decreases pore size.
Microdermabrasion also makes it easier for skin care products to penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin and help build collagen given skin its youthful appearance.
Because the machine and tips can be adjusted depending on skin type and condition, even people with sensitive skin can get a treatment from a skilled esthetician. It takes about 30 minutes and there's no down-time for the skin to recover. That's why it's also sometimes called a "lunchtime peel."
Microdermabrasion works by mechanically removing the uppermost layer of dead skin cells, getting results you can't achieve with a home microdermabrasion kit, which is basically a scrub for the face that is often too abrasive and can even irritate skin.
